Maureen Parkes is New Director at Headwaters, Inc.

The appointment of Maureen Parkes as the new Director of Headwaters, Inc., Rhinelander, has been announced by Alan Rock, Executive Director of the Catholic Charities Bureau, Superior.  Ms. Parkes brings with her more than 20 years of experience working with special education students.

Assuming her responsibilities as the new Director in late-March, Ms. Parkes will continue the mission of Headwaters to provide individualized services that are designed to maximize each person’s daily living and vocational skills in order to be integrated into the community to the fullest extent possible.  Ms. Parkes has received a Doctor of Education, Leadership from Saint Mary’s University.  Ms. Parkes said, “I am committed to be a strong advocate for persons with disabilities and support their full participation in community life.”

Headwaters, Inc. was established in 1969 as a not-for-profit transitional community based work-rehabilitation center.  They provide services to people with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, chronically mentally ill, brain injury, physically disabled, individuals who are economically disadvantaged, and children with special needs in Forest, Oneida, and Vilas counties.  Headwaters is affiliated with Catholic Charities Bureau, Diocese of Superior.  “We are pleased to have attracted a professional of Ms. Parkes’ background and experience to the Director’s position of Headwaters,” said Alan Rock, Executive Director of Catholic Charities Bureau.
