Benjamin Wright is the New Director at Challenge Center, Inc.
The appointment of Benjamin Wright as the new Director of Challenge Center, Inc., Superior, has been announced by Alan Rock, Executive Director of the Catholic Charities Bureau, Superior. Mr. Wright brings over 25 years of experience working for people with disabilities, having been the Executive Director of similar agencies in Ottumwa, Charlotte, and Maquokea, Iowa, in Midland TX, and in Madison, WI as an Area Director. Mr. Wright assumed his responsibilities as the new Director on August 1, 2016 and will continue the mission of the Challenge Center.
Mr. Wright holds a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, a BS in Industrial Technology from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, and is a Hydroponic Specialist. Mr. Wright said, “I was born and raised in the Twin Ports and nothing could make me happier than to be able to work in my chosen career in the Twin Ports.”
The Challenge Center, Inc. was established in 1969 when parents of children and adults with developmental disabilities asked Catholic Charities Bureau to develop day service programs. Since then, the Challenge Center has grown substantially and offers a continuum of service options. Community integration is a primary theme of their services and their many programs have been developed to help maintain independence while responding to community needs. The Challenge Center is affiliated with Catholic Charities Bureau, Diocese of Superior. “We are most pleased to have a professional of Mr. Wright’s quality who is devoted to our mission and philosophy. It is a pleasure to welcome Mr. Wright to the Director’s position of the Challenge Center,” said Alan Rock, Executive Director of Catholic Charities Bureau.
